Terms of Service — SortScreen

1. Agreement to Terms

By installing or using SortScreen ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, feel free to uninstall and stop using the app — no hard feelings.

• Age: You should be at least 18 years old to use SortScreen.
• Acceptance: Downloading the app from Google Play means you're on board with these Terms.
• Updates: If I make significant changes to these Terms, I'll try to let you know through the website or an in-app notice. Continuing to use the app after changes go live means you're okay with the updated Terms.

2. What SortScreen Does

SortScreen is a local screenshot organization and cleaning utility for Android. Here's what it offers:

• Gallery view: Browse your screenshots organized by category.
• Capture overlay: A floating panel that pops up after you take a screenshot — sort, delete, or share it without leaving your current app.
• Clean mode: Swipe-based or radial-dial interface for quickly going through your screenshot backlog.
• Timed deletion ("Delete later"): Schedule a screenshot for automatic deletion after a delay you choose.
• Categories: Organize screenshots into named groups with stable positions so your muscle memory kicks in.
• In-app trash: Move screenshots to system trash instead of deleting them permanently right away.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Background screenshot detection depends on your device's manufacturer and OS version — some OEMs aggressively manage background apps, which may affect reliability.
• Once you permanently delete a file, it can't be recovered.
• Compatibility with every third-party launcher or accessibility setup isn't something I can promise.

No cloud: SortScreen works locally. I don't run file servers or user account databases.

3. No Account Needed

SortScreen doesn't ask you to create an account. No username, no email, no password. Your preferences and data are stored locally on your device.

4. Acceptable Use

Please don't:

• Use the app to process or organize content that's illegal in your jurisdiction.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Distribute, resell, or sublicense the app or any part of it.
• Try to bypass the Premium paywall through technical means.
• Use the app in ways that violate Google Play's Developer Program Policies.

5. Your Data and Files

Your files are yours. Your screenshots and any data created by the app belong entirely to you. I don't upload, copy, transmit, or share your screenshots.

• Local storage only: All app data (categories, settings, pending delete queue) lives in your device's private app storage.
• No cloud backup from my side: If you uninstall the app, clear app data, or factory-reset your device, the app's organizational data is gone. Your original screenshot files in your device gallery aren't affected by uninstalling.
• Deletion is your call: When you delete screenshots using the app, those files are removed from your device (moved to system trash or permanently deleted, depending on your setting). Please back up anything you want to keep.

6. Deletion and File Operations

SortScreen performs file operations on your screenshots when you tell it to:

• Trash (default): Moves the file to Android's system trash — usually recoverable for around 30 days through the Files app, Google Photos, or your gallery's trash folder (depending on your Android version).
• Permanent delete: Immediately removes the file. This can't be undone.
• Timed deletion: Schedules a file for deletion after a delay you set (1 minute to 1 day). These scheduled deletions persist across app restarts and device reboots.
• Move to category: Organizes the screenshot into a named category.

I'm not responsible for accidental deletions. Please double-check your delete mode in Settings before using bulk operations.

7. Intellectual Property

The app: SortScreen and its components — source code, design, and graphics — are my work. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on your personal Android device.

Third-party components: SortScreen uses open-source libraries (Flutter, Drift/SQLite, Riverpod, etc.) under their respective licenses.

8. In-App Purchases (Premium)

Free tier: SortScreen is free to download and use. The free tier includes Google AdMob banner and rewarded ads.

Premium tier: An optional paid upgrade that removes all ads and supports continued development:

• Monthly subscription (auto-renewing)
• Lifetime purchase (one-time payment)

Billing: All payments go through Google Play Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel via Google Play Store → Payments & Subscriptions → SortScreen.

9. Ads & Diagnostics

The free tier shows banner and rewarded ads from Google AdMob. The app also uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to help me catch crashes and keep things stable. Both services operate under Google's privacy policy .

10. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• SortScreen is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• I do my best to make SortScreen useful and reliable, but I can't be held liable for loss of data, loss of screenshots, device issues, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
• I make no representations about the suitability, reliability, availability, timeliness, or accuracy of the app for any purpose.
• If liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable law, the total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹500 (INR), whichever is less.

11. Indemnification

You agree to hold me harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

12. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

13. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain fully in effect.
